Idle raises $1.2M to scale its Yield Optimization Protocol
The Idle Labs team has been building, researching, and immersed in DeFi since its earliest days. By exploring structured products and cross-protocols interactions, we came up with a powerful rebalancing framework that enables any pool to automatically optimize capital allocation based on users’ risk profiles.
Idle protocol started as a hackathon project in the summer of 2019 and then selected by Consensys’ Tachyon accelerator program. During the program, we had the chance to get in touch with a great community to bounce ideas with and share knowledge and advice with many leading players in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a resilient and trustless platform for algorithmic capital allocation across DeFi yield-generating protocols. Thanks to DeFi’s programmability, we see a pathway to Idle being the building block that sits as the simplest primitive of what could change the way idle savings do for every single asset in the world.
Idle aims to rewrite the relationship between people and what we traditionally call saving.
Our Investors
We couldn’t be more excited to also share the closing of our seed round to expand Idle’s range of services and improve the way users maximize returns and optimize risk exposure across DeFi protocols.
The financing was led by gumi Cryptos Capital with participation from industry leaders like Richard Ma from Quantstamp, TheLAO, Dialectic, BlockRock Capital, Greenfield One, LongHash Ventures, and other DeFi-angels like Jack Herrick, Josh Hannah, Qiao Wang, and Imran Khan.
Yield optimization protocols help normal users effortlessly compare & monitor yields on different Defi protocols and deploy capital to the best pools.
Idle’s multiple strategy product meets the sophisticated demands of different types of users (and their risk profiles), a key for mass adoption. Further, by differentiating LP incentive rewards based on users’ behavior, Idle is going to build a much healthier ecosystem.

Enhancing Protocol Growth
We believe in an open development process and transparency of protocol plans. Raised funds will be mainly used to foster the growth of the ecosystem, supporting the improvements voted by the community and acting as an amplifier of governance decisions.
Higher engagement can be achieved by organizing periodic community roundups, joining hackathons to help through advisory early-stage projects that embed Idle’s concept, or by connecting multiple service providers with available UIs.
We believe that the DeFi market can accelerate its growth by opening the doors to professional funds; such entities can inject capital orders of magnitude higher than the current volumes, but they are hesitant to join the decentralized finance ecosystem due to its complexity and instability. The maturity of this market can be achieved through high-security standards and legal frameworks, to foster the evolution into a global industry. In this contest, Idle has the ambitious vision to be the gateway to drive financial markets into cutting-edge yield-generating protocols.
